December 27 Happy Hen Farms Weekly Newsletter: What Do YOU Want to Know about Chickens, Eggs, Plants, ect....?
December 27 Happy Hen Farms Weekly Newsletter
Good Evening,
This Friday, I am planning on coming to the school to drop of eggs. I will be in a white Honda Civic on the left side of the parking lot. I will be there from 10:30-11:00 am.
For those who pick up at my grandparent's store, they are open Friday (10-5).
My house will be available for pickup most of the break, so if you would rather pickup at my house, just let me know and I will get a day and time worked out for you!
Eggs:
By Friday, there will be about 60 dozen total available. I will have about 12 Large dozens and about 48 Medium dozens available.
Egg production has stayed consistent, at about 5.5 dzn/day, and the medium eggs have bigger yolks. Once school is back in session on January 6th, the Medium eggs will be $3/dzn, unless otherwise posted. When the days start getting longer, egg size is going to go up fairly quickly, as well as quantity! Since spring time (longer days, optimal weather conditions) causes chickens to start laying lots of eggs, I am going to be expecting about 8.5-9 dozen eggs a day by the end of March through May.
Newsletter: What Do YOU Want to Know about Chickens, Eggs, Plants, ect...?
This weeks newsletter is not really a newsletter. I want to know if any of you had any questions about chickens, eggs, plants, ect...
If you have a question, whether it be a carefully planned, extremely concise question, or an out-of-the blue type of question, I would love to do my best to answer it! Believe it or not, even the shortest questions (like, "why are egg yolks orange?") can have tons of background and detail in the answer.
If you want to know more about vegetables, just ask!
Merry Christmas to you and your family!
