How Many Eggs does the Average Happy Hen Farms customer eat in a Year?
The average egg consumption per person in the U.S is right around 290 eggs per year. However, if you buy your eggs from a place other than the grocery store (like Happy Hen Farms), you may eat more than the national average! Essentially, the national statistic is the total number of eggs sold divided by the population of the U.S. That doesn't necessarily take into account people who can't eat eggs, or those who prefer "alternative eggs" that are not available at grocery stores.
That being said, what was the average egg consumption for a Happy Hen Farms customer this year? First, lets take the average weekly orders (~14 orders/week, 728 orders/year). Next, take the recorded egg numbers for 2020 (22,305 eggs) and divide it by the average order amount. So, the average amount of eggs consumed by a Happy Hen Farms customer is right around 31 eggs per week, or roughly 1,590 eggs per year. Wait! That seems exponentially larger than the national average! The estimate above only accounts for the customer making the order on behalf of the rest of the family (lets say the average family is 4 people). But, if you do indeed eat 1,590 eggs in a year by yourself, good for you!
So, in reality, the average Happy Hen Farms customer consumes about 398 eggs per year! That's an average of 14 families a year with an average of 4 people per family (56 people eating HHF eggs throughout a year) being divided by the 22,305 eggs produced in 2020 (22305/56 = 398.30 eggs)
