Nutritional Qualities of Radish Microgreens

Microgreens aren't your everyday salad green, although they probably should be!

Depending on where you live and like to shop/go out to eat, you may have never heard of "microgreens." Well, in this post, you'll learn about the nutritional benefits of microgreens, and in particular, radish microgreens.

One of the first reasons why radish microgreens are my favorite is because they grow extremely quickly. Their time to maturity averages 7 days from seeding to harvest. Also, radish micro's are crunchy and spicy, adding nice texture to any salad, or even by themselves.

Now for the fun part: talking about how healthy radish microgreens are for you!

Radish microgreens contain high amounts of vitamins B3, B6, C, and vitamin A. B vitamins help the cardiovascular system by breaking down compounds that deposit fats in the blood. Vitamin C helps with your immune system, as well as skin. Vitamin C is partly responsible for controlling free-radicals (cancer causing agents; defective cells).

Another great benefit of radish microgreens is that they are highly concentrated with polyphenols, which are a contributor to a reduction in Alzheimer's disease.
